10 Sites You need to check every day

Once you arrive at the office, how do you start your day? You probably do not dig directly into your work. (If you do, you deserve a raise). More realistically, you hit the coffee and peruse your favorite catch up on the news you missed when connecting to your virtuous eight hours of dream time websites.
Even here in PCMag.com our browsers are not always listening to our own website. In fact, many of our sites must read are not even related technology. Shocking, is not it? But it is our duty to be on all the news that's fit to tweet. In addition, Facebook friend requests will not be confirmed.
Remember, visiting these sites is important gathering of information, not woolgathering. In this way, later, the water cooler (read: GI people in the same cavernous room at the office), you can show your mastery of pop culture (read: died on Game Of Thrones last night).
We surveyed the masses by PCMag and get a list of sites that we can not live without. So before you dive into your workload in the morning, do not forget to check out these 10 essential sites.
1. Facebook
Not that you need our encouragement, this is the most popular site on the Internet, according to Alexa traffic rankings. There are over a billion people active on Facebook each month, and for some of them, Facebook is the Internet. This is where children and adults both will check with friends and family around their campus, city, country and the world, to organize events, share photos and videos, and more.
2. Reuters
If you are looking for simple, unbiased news coverage is less infotainment, the less political activism and pure journalism, international news agency with 160 years of history as the wire service most respected in the world is probably your best choice. Founded in London in 1851 to provide data on the financial markets, Reuters has built a reputation as the first to report international news scoops, including news of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Reuters online is multilingual, employs thousands of journalists and hit all the highlights without fluff. It is like new normal, except for adults.
3. Pinterest
Pinterest is like Hotel California: "You can read whenever you want, but you can never leave"-is that consumption. On your favorite social image "pin" through the Web to your advice classified, and other site can then repin your photos. This is a way to collect your thoughts, marking recipes and tips, or just get inspired. If you are not already pinning, check out how you can start.
4. Lifehacker
Your life requires some tweaking and this site Gawker has the low-down on how to do it. Although there is a lot of emphasis on improving your digital camera well-being, there are also many other useful tips and find to improve your life in general tips in areas such as power, creativity, work and travel, to name a few.
5. The Verge
Former Engadget editor Joshua Topolsky launched The Verge be a site accessible technology, but with more detailed specifications and critical where design is as important as writing. Mission accomplished. The Verge may have more traffic between blogs gadgets (yet), but it certainly got the buzz, he even won five Webby Awards last year. The site has now The Verge video with regular video updates on the day of the gadget world.
6. Slate.com
One of the first online magazines alongside Salon, Slate has come a long way since the days when it was owned by Microsoft. In 17 years, the online magazine covered or supported everything you can imagine in politics, technology, business, art and life. He could not pay the subscriptions work, but managed to podcasts, and became a winner of the National Magazine Award in 2011.
7. CollegeHumor
Maybe you wish you can relive your college glory days of the good times when everything was a riot. Even if you do not do yourself Tweet anything, it's best to read the latest media news, pithy comments and stars of comics, and some longreads solid meal. In fact, if you follow your favorite sites on Twitter, you probably do not need to store them in your bookmarks bar.
9. Consumerist
When a product is faulty technology or an online service does not work as it should, you can read about it in the journal PCMag. But when representatives of customer service refuse to listen to your problems cables or restaurants are overcharging for their meals, you can read about it on the consumer. Now owned by Consumer Reports, it is updated throughout the day and is packed with useful information shopper.
10. Grub Street
If you are an amateur and want to stay with restaurant industry news, keep an eye on Grub Street and its local editions in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Short blurbs on this blog of New York magazine are reused from everywhere. If it is a food law, a restaurant, a chef, or even a supermarket chain gas stations, it will show here.
